Smashing Deadlines
Setting up artwork can seem a daunting task at times! That’s why we created our 10 step artwork requirement guide.
Let’s face it, we’ve all sent files through for print only to have a prepress worker contact us to let us know it’s all wrong. Ugh, something we don’t want to hear with only 3 days till project handover.
Generally it’s a really simple fix such as outlining fonts. Although we do have an extensive font library, we can’t guarantee to cover each and every one! Take care to check that the high res version of an image was used. Make sure all the elements of the design are within the artboard when saving as a PDF, this ensures we print the entire file as it’s seen.
For larger files including hoarding decals and banners, check that the PDF file is 5 metres or less prior to saving. If a larger size is required simply scale the artwork to suit ie: 10, 25 or 50% smaller. Image resolution needs to be at least 150dpi at 100%
We wanted to help take the guesswork out of setting up files so you can avoid that dreaded call from prepress.
